Hotel Manager CityHub Reykjavik

Full-time · Reykjavik

We are looking for a dedicated Hotel Manager for CityHub Reykjavik with 93 Hubs.

About CityHub

CityHub is a lifestyle brand that is exploring the uncharted waters of the hospitality industry. We cater to the wishes and needs of the new generation of curious and savvy nomads and make sure to always stay one step ahead. Serving up the best of both worlds: travellers experience the comfort of a hotel combined with the feeling of community and the affordability of a hostel. We integrate state-of-the-art technology with the local CityHosts who connect travellers with the city and help them make it their own. We currently have hotels in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Copenhagen and we are working behind the scenes to conquer Europe.

Will you be our man/woman on the ground?

As a Hotel Manager, you are responsible for the ins and outs of the hotel and you oversee all operational matters. You are responsible for day-to-day management and you are the main point of contact for all CityHosts, they are your team: you hire them, train them and support them.

Your job is also to coordinate all external partners such as suppliers and housekeeping. You are involved in welcoming and helping guests, both at the hotel and online. You are our man/woman on the ground, promoting CityHub’s values by example. The hotel is always evolving, and you never sit still, no two days are the same.

You are the person we are looking for if you are good with people, will patiently listen to their frustrations and enthusiastically celebrate their victories. Along with great interpersonal skills, you have an eye for detail and don't shy away from administrative tasks. You are highly structured and organised but don’t panic if things don’t go according to plan (because they won’t), you have a zen personality and a problem-solving attitude.

This is what you’ll do:

  • Support in the pre-opening processes of the hotel.

  • Be responsible for the overall performance of CityHub Reykjavik.

  • Manage and train the CityHosts and housekeeping team.

  • Monitor the quality of the concept and maintain the level of service throughout the customer journey.

  • Efficient coordination and streamlining of all operational matters at the hotel.

  • Be the first point of contact for suppliers and facility services.

  • Perform administrative tasks (reservations, financial administration, scheduling, etc.)

  • Optimize the commercial, operational and financial performance of the hotel.

  • Purchase supplies and manage inventory.

  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance.

  • Implement technological updates.

Next to all the things stated above, there are some basic requirements:

  • Available from the end of May. CityHub is expected to open in August 2024 (subject to change).

  • You are based in Reykjavik, have knowledge about local regulations and you know the city very well.

  • You are fluent in English and Icelandic written and spoken (the more languages the better).

  • You have a university degree.

  • You have at least 2 years of management experience in the hotel industry or in operations.

How’s working with us?

We said we are growing, we know, but we are still very young at heart and our start-up mindset will never abandon us. At CityHub the borders  between departments are blurred, everybody is independent, but nobody works on their own island, we are involved to some extent in many things and everybody has opinions on stuff.

If you join us, you’ll get all the basics: a competitive salary and a performance-based bonus scheme, 24 days of vacation and the tools of the trade. Next to that you’ll have nice colleagues, an informal and fun working environment where your voice will always be heard. We organize multiple team gatherings a year to get the team together. We offer you a challenging position where you have the independence to fulfill your potential and the support to grow with us.

Unfortunately, we don't speak Icelandic :-). We're a Dutch company with an international team. Please note that motivational letters and/or resumes that aren't in English can't be considered by our hiring team.
